Denise Marini Lougheed, LMT

Denise Marini Lougheed is a Licensed and Nationally Board Certified Massage Therapist. She graduated from Padua Academy in and then completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from James Madison University. She continued her education at The Baltimore School of Massage and completed the massage therapy program in 1989.

Massage Therapy Experience

In 1993 Denise became one of the first individuals in the state of Delaware to become a licensed massage therapist. Denise has practiced massage therapy for over 33 years. She has owned Touch of Health Massage Alliance since 1993. It has been her goal to integrate the services of massage therapists into other healthcare professions.
Over the years she has been fortunate enough to see medical professionals become more knowledgeable about the healing properties of massage therapy. She has worked closely with physical therapists, chiropractors, doctors and nurse practitioners in seeing that patients and clients receive the best care possible.

Philosophy on Massage Therapy

She is a firm believer in the client or patient taking an active role in his or her treatment and is therefore constantly recommending stretches and self care techniques to help with recovery.
She has traveled across the country and to Russia to educate herself on the healing techniques of massage therapy. Her goal with her patients and clients has always been to restore their function so that they may lead a healthy lifestyle.

Massage Therapy Specializations

Denise is a member of the American Bodywork and Massage Professionals. She specializes in treating patients with the following symptoms:

  • Soft tissue injuries as a result of an automobile or work related injury

  • Deep tissue

  • Sports massage

  • Trigger point therapy

  • Myofascial release

Personal Life

Denise enjoys spending time with her friends, family, countless brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews as well as running and going to the beach.
